To that end, we are continuing our series Doxology: Doctrines for our Discipleship with the first of a new four-part emphasis looking at the doctrine of God entitled, Theology: The Glory of God as the Center of All Things.
The Great Commission is a call to be a disciple of Christ as well as make disciples for Christ. If you are a parent or a grandparent, you automatically have a list to start discipling. While parents can enlist the help of others to assist them in making disciples of their children, they cannot completely delegate it.
The Gospel must be the fuel that drives our adherence to the Great Commission’s call for us to reach out and remain with. Without the fuel of the Gospel, we will not have the necessary motivation for engaging others concerning the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. There simply is no serious discipleship without the awareness of what God has done for us in Christ.
Our current preaching series is entitled: Doxology: Doctrines for our Discipleship. We are taking a look at seven broad categories that are some of the most essential categorical summaries of the Christian faith. Our hearts move our hands to action while our heads inform our hearts. Thus, doctrine is to have the effect of stirring our affections and moving our hands into action.
The Gospel must be at the heart and center of our gathering as a church. If we will ever grasp our high calling to carry out our Lord’s Great Commission, we must first be amazed and convinced of the power of the Gospel.
In conjunction with the new design of our website, perhaps it is a good time to explain why we should bother with a website. What is the purpose of our website? The purpose for our website is essentially subservient to the purpose of our church.
