How do I join First Baptist Church of St. Peters?
To help us grow in Christlikeness, God has ordained the church. To become more Christlike you should be an active member of a local church. If you think you would like to join First Baptist Church of St. Peters, here’s how you can.
Principally Stated
First, you must be a lover of the Gospel, that is, you must be a true follower of the Lord Jesus Christ. Having renounced yourself and repented of your sin, you are now trusting solely in the life, death, and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ.
Second, you must be a lover of the Triune God by loving Him and the things that are precious to Him above all else. That means that you love the church, even more specifically this particular local church—its people, practices, beliefs, and leadership.
Procedurally Explained
- To begin the process, you should speak to the pastor and indicate to him your desire
- If you have not been scripturally baptized by immersion after becoming a true follower of Christ, you will need to be baptized in order to unite with our church.
- If you have been scripturally baptized, you may join by a transfer of your membership from another church or by a statement (profession) of your faith.
- You will be asked to attend the membership classes that we offer on Sunday mornings. Speak with the pastor to sign up for the next sessions.
- The Pastor and/or the deacons will attempt to visit with you after the membership classes to inquire of your desire to unite with our church.
- You will be officially received as a member during one of our quarterly meetings.
Is Jesus your Lord, Savior, Redeemer? If not, find out why you need Him.
