Welcome to First Baptist Church of St. Peters

How can we help? What are our beliefs? Have you listened to our sermons? Where are we located? Most importantly, are you repenting of your sins and trusting in Christ alone for forgiveness?

Timothy Harrelson

Pastoral Assistant

Email:

My name is Timothy Harrelson. Upon entering my undergraduate degree at Missouri Baptist University, God made it clear to me that I was in need of a church family. Soon thereafter, He brought me to FBC St Peters. During my time in the church, I had the opportunity to teach College and Career Sunday School, lead a small group, and serve as a Deacon Candidate. Through putting me in these roles, God has blessed me with building relationships with our church family.

Alongside these roles at church, God was at work in the pursuit of my undergraduate degree. Halfway through my four-year sports medicine degree, God cultivated and grew a new desire in my heart – the desire to know Him and serve His people. I, therefore, discontinued my degree in sports medicine and switched to a pastoral studies tract in the Religion department. Now, the Lord has led me to Covenant Theological Seminary, where I am currently pursuing the completion of a Masters of Divinity degree.

In December of 2010, I was brought on staff as the “Pastoral Assistant.”

“Pastoral assistant,” you say, “What’s that?” But yea! O valiant inquisitor, ye need not be dismayed by said title. Actually, my primary function is simple: I serve to help the pastor in multiple ways so that he can give more focused attention to the preaching, teaching, and counseling of the Word of God to the people. These ways can include: organization, administration, teaching, researching, counseling, and discipling, among others.
